Indiegogo - No Support
Indiegogo is a crowd funding site for innovations and other public interest endeavors.I am warning all who have an interest in crowd funding to avoid this site with a passion.
If a backed campaign goes south (as a wearable one in which I invested), they will not help you obtain any information whatsoever. They hide behind a false shield of privacy but there are ways to release information, which they refuse, without violating this policy. The bottom line is they will not help nor will they offer any assistance in resolving matters with campaigns. While you sign that you understand you may lose your investment and they you have all the responsibility with the campaign, Indiegogo won't even provide any assisstance in purusing parties that don't fulfill their obligation.
They are like robots and spout the same old corporate BS no matter the question. Their own "Truth & Safety" division doesn't even practice what its name implies (they're like talking to computers without a personality). They don't even practice quality control over campaigns by monitoring whether they abide by Indiegogo's own rules. They don't monitor trending comments left on the campaign's Indiegogo home page to determine if there are issues with the campaign (so they can take affirmative action before it's too late).
They don't even notify backers about any issues surrounding a campaign. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!! Money down the rabbit hole. They apparently don't even enforce their own rules regarding campaigns, unlike KickStarter.
I would definitely avoid doing business with this online company. This is truly the wild, wild west when it comes to investing in projects. You are hung out to dry if anything goes south.
Buyer Beware!!!!!!Put your money in KickStarter (it's cheaper for the same projects and they monitor campaign activities while offering some protection for backers).
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $100.
Preferred solution: Provide additional information about a non-responsive campaigner..
I liked: Innovative products.
I didn't like: Customer service.
